Dr. Greg Ellis
Hello. My name is Greg Ellis. I am the owner and dentist at Mira Vista Dental. I was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and moved to Texas with my family in July of 1976 when I was 8 years old. I am proud to be an American citizen.
Fort Worth has been my Texas home. I went to high school at Trinity Valley and studied Biology at Austin College in Sherman Texas. I trained at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. After dental school, I completed a 1 year General Practice Residency at Olin E. Teague VA Hospital in Temple, Texas.
In November 1998, I proudly opened my dental office in Mira Vista. I have been honored with the privilege to get know so many wonderful patients and sometimes cannot believe we have been here for so many years!
My second passion in life is aviation. I earned my private pilot's license in 1993, my instrument rating in 2003, and my commercial and twin engine ratings in 2008. My wife and I have a small single engine plane we enjoy taking on small trips.
Sundie Ellis, Family Nurse Practitioner
I am a born and rasied Texan! Born at All Saints Hospital in downtown Fort Worth (now known as Baylor All Saints), I soon moved with my family to College Station where my father completed his Masters degree. We moved to Houston, San Antonio, Merced, CA and finally back to Sugar Land, Texas. I love my home and am proud to be a Native Texan!
My role at Mira Vista Dental is to consult on all medical issues that impact dental health. Primarily I consult and run our Sleep Apnea Treatment Program. After graduating from Texas A&M, I studied at Case Western University in the Nursing Doctorate program. I Earned a Masters in Nursing and National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Case Western in January 2000.
I am passionate about patient education and will be the one who will most likely answer your emails overnight and on weekends. Please do not hesitate to use the service if you have any questions. I strongly believe an informed patient makes the best health care decision for themselves.
Adrian Askins, Office Administration
Hello, I’m Adrian Askins. I’m originally from Lubbock Texas. I graduated from Texas Tech in 1994 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. While attending Texas Tech, I met my now husband. I left Lubbock in 1996 and later my husband and I moved to Weatherford in 2007. We have a son named Caleb who is following in his parent’s footsteps by attending Texas Tech University! Wreck ‘em Tech!!
I am a former teacher, by now I enjoy my role out of the classroom. I love getting to meet and greet each patient as they come into the office. We hope to make every dental experience a great one. If I can share my smile with someone and make them smile, then my job is done!
Brooke Hoerman, Dental Hygienist
Hello, my name is Brooke Hoerman. I am a Texan born and raised. I was born in Lubbock, Texas and raised in the little town of Abernathy. I attended dental hygiene school in Amarillo, Texas. After graduation, I traded the flat windy panhandle for the big city. I moved to Fort Worth in summer of 2019 and enjoy exploring all the big city has to offer.
My passion is helping my patients obtain their optimal oral health. "A smile is happiness you'll find right under your nose" -Tom Wilson. I strive to educate every person I encounter on ways they can better their oral health and hygiene. Every cleaning appointment is an opportunity for us to work toward a confident healthy smile. I am excited to meet you and help you in any way I can.
In my free time I enjoy being outdoors. I love taking my labradoodle Belle walking, swimming, and exploring. We love walking the Trinity Trails and swimming at the lake. I am also an avid reader and spend many afternoons on the porch with my nose in a good book. If you have any book recommendation do not be hesitant to send them my way.
Shelby Horton, Dental Assistant
Hi, my name is Shelby Horton. I was born in Ft. Worth and grew up in Aledo. I graduated from high school there in 2011. I have a three-year-old daughter. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time at my family farm in West Texas. I graduated from Dental Assisting School in June 2019. I began working for Dr. Ellis in August. I enjoy interacting with patients and look forward to my future experiences as a dental assistant.
