Sedation Dentistry Services

We offer the following levels of sedation: Oral Conscious Sedation and Laughing Gas.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Mira Vista Dental offers oral conscious sedation to help anxious patients stay relaxed during treatment. This form of sedation is taken as a pill prior to the procedure and can offer either a mild or moderate sedative effect. With mild sedation, patients feel drowsy, and with moderate sedation, patients may fall into a light sleep.

Laughing Gas

patient receiving laughing gas before a dental procedureLaughing gas, or inhalation sedation, is a mild form of sedation that can be paired with oral conscious sedation. This option is typically suited for young patients or those with mild anxiety in the dental chair. Laughing gas, or nitrous oxide, is a colorless, odor-free gas that is administered through a comfortable breathing mask.

Dr. Ellis will control the amount of gas to ensure maximum safety and comfort. With this form of sedation, you can expect to be fully relaxed while remaining fully awake and able to follow instructions.
