Replacing Silver Fillings
Mercury amalgam fillings are a thing of the past. Since opening his practice in 1998, Dr. Ellis has not placed a single mercury filling. He believes tooth colored filling material- called composite- provides a strong, aesthetic restoration superior to mercury fillings.
Composite fillings work so well and look so good that many of our patients choose to replace the mercury amalgam fillings in their mouths with the tooth colored composite.
The procedure is simple and can make a huge difference in the way you smile and can boost your confidence. Your old unsightly, grey mercury amalgams change into beautiful natural looking composite restorations.
Composite fillings are made of a resin material that when hardened with a special light bond to the tooth to provide a strong restoration. We can use the material to fix decayed teeth, repair enamel defects, change the color of the enamel as well as remove and replace those unsightly mercury amalgam fillings.
If you are interested in whiter, more natural looking teeth, and replacing your old mercury amalgam fillings than composite fillings may be the right choice for you. Ask us about it.
